Where It Began: The Diamond Counter

My first job ever was a summer gig selling jewelry.

The store had two counters. The gold counter was always buzzing. The diamond counter sat quiet: too expensive, and hardly anyone walked over. Whenever I had a free moment, I'd sneak over and stand under the lights, watching the fire in the stones.

Back then, diamond pieces were mostly simple platinum settings. But even that simple sparkle, I couldn't look away from. I made myself a promise: if one day I could afford a diamond that beautiful, I would buy it. And I would design pieces unlike anything on the market, led by yellow gold, warm and full of story.

That thought stayed with me for years.

Why Lab-Grown Diamonds

When lab-grown diamonds came into view, I dug into the research. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: chemically, physically and optically the same as mined diamonds, with the same brilliance and the same fire, created without tearing up the earth to mine them. For the first time, a diamond this beautiful could be made responsibly, and shared with far more people.

That's when I knew my moment had come.

What We Make

• Vintage-inspired design. Silhouettes shaped by antique and vintage jewelry, reinterpreted for everyday wear.
• Fancy-cut lab-grown diamonds. Pear, marquise, emerald, oval, cushion and other distinctive shapes, chosen for personality, not just sparkle.
• Old European Cut. Our signature, hallmark style: lab-grown diamonds in the Old European Cut, with chunky, old-world facets and a soft, candlelit glow, without the antique price tag.
• Lab-grown colored gemstones. Color-rich stones paired with diamonds for pieces that feel unmistakably yours.
• Solid gold. Crafted in new solid 14K and 18K gold, with yellow gold first. We build pieces with real weight, made to be worn and kept.
• Platinum and white gold settings. Prefer a cooler tone? Choose platinum or white gold for any design.
• Sourced at the origin. We select our stones directly at the source in Henan, China, so we know exactly where every one comes from and hand-pick each for cut, color and clarity.
• Cut to your shape. Can't find the shape you want? We can custom-cut a lab-grown diamond to your design, sourced directly in Henan.
• Independently graded, on request. Independent reports are available on request: IGI (International Gemological Institute) for loose lab-grown diamonds (about 20 days, $50), NGTC for finished jewelry (about 3 days, free), and AGL (American Gemological Laboratories) for loose lab-grown colored gemstones (about 3 days, free).

Marie has loved vintage jewelry for as long as she can remember. She founded MAVÉ because her own standards are very high: she couldn't find the pieces she wanted to wear, so she set out to make them. Every design passes through her eyes and her hands.

The girl who once could only stand outside the counter now brings diamonds to every girl.
