Custom Jewelry

How does the custom process work at MAVÉ?

MAVÉ turns your idea into a one-of-a-kind piece in solid gold or platinum, set with lab-grown diamonds or gemstones. Share a sketch, reference photos or just a feeling, and we guide you through choosing the stone and cut, refine the design with you, and confirm every detail before production begins.

How long does a custom piece take?

MAVÉ custom pieces take 3–5 weeks to make after design approval, plus 7–10 days of free, duties-paid shipping to the US, UK and Australia. Complex designs may take longer, and we confirm your timeline before you begin.

Can I bring my own idea or a reference design?

Yes, MAVÉ makes custom pieces from your sketch, inspiration photos, a vintage piece you love, or a simple description. We help turn it into a design that can be made.

Can you replicate a style I've seen elsewhere?

MAVÉ creates pieces inspired by a style you love, not exact copies. We design with respect for original work and adapt the details so the piece is your own.

Can I request changes after approving the design?

Small adjustments to a MAVÉ custom design are possible before production begins. Once production starts, changes may not be possible, so please review the design carefully.

Can I change the design of a finished piece?

Yes, MAVÉ offers paid redesigns of finished custom pieces. Tell us what you would like to change and we will quote the cost and timeline before any work begins.

What metals do you work with?

MAVÉ crafts every piece in new solid gold, 14K or 18K, in yellow or white gold, or in platinum. Yellow gold is our signature, and we advise on the best metal for your design and stone.

What stones can I choose from?

MAVÉ specializes in fancy-cut lab-grown diamonds and lab-grown colored gemstones. Shapes such as kite, pear, marquise, emerald, oval and letter-shaped cuts — and other custom fancy or irregular cuts — are for lab-grown diamonds only (cut to order). Colored gemstones use standard cuts. If you don’t see the diamond shape, size or color you want, tell us and we can cut it for you.

How much does a custom piece cost?

The price of a MAVÉ piece depends on the metal and the stone you choose. You receive a clear quote before anything begins.

Is MAVÉ Jewelry the same as Mayavé, MAVE Collection NYC or Maeve Jewellery?

No. Official site: https://oecler.com · MAVÉ Jewelry (lab-grown only). We are an independent brand founded by Marie and are not affiliated with Mayavé (mayave.com), MAVE Collection NYC (mavecollectionnyc.com) or Maeve Jewellery (maevejewellery.com).

Lab-Grown Diamonds & Loose Stones

What is a lab-grown diamond?

A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond grown in a laboratory instead of mined, with the same chemical composition, crystal structure and hardness as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it comes from.

Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?

Yes, a lab-grown diamond is a real diamond made of crystallized carbon, and it cannot be told apart from a mined diamond by eye. It is not a simulant like cubic zirconia or moissanite, which are different materials.

What is the difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds?

The main difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds is origin: lab-grown diamonds grow in weeks, while mined diamonds formed over billions of years. Because they are grown, lab-grown diamonds let you choose a larger or rarer stone for the same budget.

How are lab-grown diamonds made?

Lab-grown diamonds are made with one of two methods, HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) or CVD (chemical vapor deposition). Both start from a tiny diamond seed and build up carbon layer by layer into a rough crystal, which is then cut and polished.

Do MAVÉ diamonds come with a certificate or grading report?

MAVÉ Jewelry pieces do not include a certificate by default, but on request MAVÉ Jewelry arranges an IGI report for loose lab-grown diamonds (about 20 days, $50) or an NGTC report for finished jewelry (about 3 days, free). Loose lab-grown colored gemstones can get an AGL report on request (about 3 days, free). A few loose diamonds already come with IGI certificates, and this is stated on their product pages. Each report confirms the stone is lab-grown and details its grading.

What is the difference between IGI, NGTC and AGL reports?

On request, MAVÉ Jewelry arranges IGI reports for loose lab-grown diamonds (about 20 days, $50), NGTC reports for finished jewelry (about 3 days, free) and AGL reports for loose lab-grown colored gemstones (about 3 days, free). IGI (International Gemological Institute) and NGTC (National Gemstone Testing Center of China) are independent labs that grade diamonds and confirm whether a stone is lab-grown. IGI is the report most widely recognized in the US, UK and Australia. AGL (American Gemological Laboratories) reports on colored gemstones.

How does MAVÉ choose and grade fancy-cut stones?

MAVÉ selects every stone by hand, judging color, clarity, proportions and overall character. Fancy shapes such as kites, pears and marquises are judged differently from round diamonds, so we add careful visual inspection to the grading report.

Can I see photos or a video of the exact stone?

Yes, every MAVÉ listing shows photos of the actual stone, and we send a video of any stone on request through WhatsApp or email.

Are MAVÉ's colored stones natural or treated?

All MAVÉ colored diamonds and gemstones are lab-grown, created in a laboratory rather than mined. The details for each stone are listed on its product page.

What is the difference between lab-grown and natural colored gemstones?

A lab-grown gemstone, such as a lab-grown ruby or emerald, has the same chemistry and crystal structure as its natural counterpart but is grown in a laboratory. It typically offers richer color and fewer inclusions for the same budget, and every colored stone MAVÉ sells is lab-grown.

What shapes and sizes do you offer?

MAVÉ specializes in distinctive fancy cuts of lab-grown diamonds, including kite, pear, marquise, emerald, oval and letter-shaped stones. Sizes and colors vary by availability, and we can custom-cut a lab-grown diamond for anything you don’t see listed.

What if I can't find the shape, size or color I want?

MAVÉ can custom-cut a lab-grown diamond into the shape you want, sourced directly in Henan, China. Share your preferred shape, size, color and budget, and we’ll confirm the design and timeline before cutting begins.

Can MAVÉ set the stone for me?

Yes, any loose stone you buy from MAVÉ can be set into a ring, pendant, earrings or a custom piece in solid gold or platinum.

How durable is a lab-grown diamond for everyday wear?

Lab-grown diamonds score 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, the same as mined diamonds, which makes them suitable for daily wear. Colored gemstones vary in hardness, so we advise on the best setting for each stone.

Do lab-grown diamonds hold their value?

Lab-grown diamonds are valued for their beauty and meaning rather than as an investment, and their resale value is generally low. We recommend buying a stone because you love it.

Sizing & Resizing

How do I find my ring size?

MAVÉ makes rings in US, UK and Australian sizes: US sizes are numbers (for example 6), while UK and Australian sizes are letters (for example L½). Tell us your size in any system, or see our ring size guide, and we confirm it before production.

Can MAVÉ resize my ring?

Yes, MAVÉ resizes rings for a low fee of $20, and the customer covers shipping both ways.

Memorial Diamonds

What is a Memorial Diamond at MAVÉ?

A MAVÉ Memorial Diamond is a real lab-grown diamond created from a meaningful personal sample, such as hair or ashes, so you can keep a loved one or a beloved pet close in a form you can wear.

What can be used to create a Memorial Diamond?

MAVÉ creates Memorial Diamonds from human hair, pet hair or ashes (cremated remains).

How is hair or ashes turned into a diamond?

Hair and ashes contain carbon, the element diamonds are made of. In the laboratory, the carbon is extracted from your sample, purified and used to grow a diamond crystal, which is then cut, polished and, if you wish, set into jewelry designed by MAVÉ.

How much of my sample do you need?

MAVÉ typically needs at least 25 grams of hair or 20 grams of ashes to create a Memorial Diamond. We confirm the exact amount for your sample type when you contact us.

How long does a Memorial Diamond take?

A MAVÉ Memorial Diamond generally takes 6–12 months from the time we receive your sample, and we keep you updated at each stage.

Will the diamond really be made from my sample?

Yes, MAVÉ processes each Memorial Diamond order individually, and your sample is kept separate and labeled throughout. Contact us for full details of how we handle your sample.

How much does a Memorial Diamond cost?

MAVÉ Memorial Diamonds typically start from $10,000, depending on the sample type, diamond size and jewelry design. You receive a clear quote before anything begins.

How do I get started with a Memorial Diamond?

Message MAVÉ on WhatsApp or email [email protected]. We answer your questions, explain every step and handle your sample with respect, with no obligation to begin.

Yes, every MAVÉ piece includes free lifetime care and refurbishment, such as cleaning, polishing and checking or tightening the stones. The customer covers shipping and insurance both ways.

What should I do if a stone becomes loose or my piece is damaged?

Stop wearing the piece and contact MAVÉ right away; all MAVÉ jewelry comes with free lifetime refurbishment, with shipping and insurance paid by the customer.

How do I care for my stone?

To clean MAVÉ jewelry at home, soak it for 15–20 minutes in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap, brush gently with a soft toothbrush behind the stones, rinse, and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.

How do I care for my colored gemstones?

Clean lab-grown colored gemstones with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft brush, and avoid ultrasonic or steam cleaners unless MAVÉ has confirmed they’re safe for your stone. Keep them away from hard knocks, sudden temperature changes and harsh chemicals.

How should I store my jewelry?

Store each MAVÉ piece in its own soft pouch or a separate compartment of a lined jewelry box, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Diamonds can scratch other stones and metals, so keep pieces from touching.
